What is Selection Post ?

Selection post are those post where they need either a specific educational qualification or certificate course or relevant previous experience or the combination of all the three. In this Post, we will discuss the qualification and other requirement to apply in SSC Direct Recruitment (Selection Posts).

For example

In Medical attendant in CGHS(Central Government Health Scheme): The candidate must have 10th Pass and also a compulsory certificate of medical attendant given by state or central government.

Eligibility Criteria

 

Nationality

Age Limit

The Minimum Age is 18 years and Maximum Age is 30 years to be eligible for Selection Post. However, there is a relaxation of age for reserved category candidate.

SC/ST: Up to 40 years

 

 

The candidate who has passed in 10th, 12th/Intermediate and Bachelor degree from an approved/recognized board/university are eligible to apply for the Selection Post exam

Examination

The candidate must pass the Minimum Education (10th, 12th/Intermediate or Bachelor degree) from an approved/recognized board/university before appearing in the exam.

There will be computer-based examination consisting of Objective Type Multiple Type Question and Document Verification.

Note
  • 0.50 marks will be deducted after every wrong answer. So, candidate is advised to write answer when they are fully confident.
  • Visually Handicapped candidate with 40% and above disability, there will be no question on Maps/Graph/Diagrams/Statistical Data in General Intelligence/Quantitative Aptitude Subjects.
  • Skill Tests like Typing/ Data Entry/ Computer Proficiency Test, etc., which are noted in the Essential Qualification, are qualifying nature

Below is the Syllabus for all the four subjects

General Intelligence

Ordering and Ranking, Data Sufficiency, Coding and Decoding, Code Inequalities, Verbal Reasoning, Syllogism, Circular & Linear Seating Arrangement, Double Lineup, Scheduling, Input-Output, Blood Relations, Directions and Distances.

 General Knowledge

Scientific Research, Portfolios, Important Dates, Current Affairs, Awards and Honors, Books and Authors, Sports, Entertainment, Static General Knowledge (History, Geography, etc.), Persons in News, Important Schemes

Quantitative Aptitude

Time and Work, Ratio and Proportions, Speed, Number System, Data Sufficiency, Distance and Time, Percentage, Number Series, Data Interpretation, Mensuration and Geometry, Quadratic Equation, Interest, Problems of Ages, Profit and Loss.

English Comprehension

Fill in the Blanks, Error Correction, Para Jumbles, Cloze Test, Verbal Ability, Synonyms-Antonyms Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, , Active and Passive Voice

 

 Selection Procedure

  • Recruitment to Selection Posts will be made through Written Examination in Computer Based Mode consisting of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.

The selection will be based on:

o   Candidate should be chosen in the ratio of 1:20 for up to 5 vacancies available for the post

o   Candidate should be chosen in the ratio of 1:10 for more than 5 vacancies for any category of posts subject to minimum 100.

  • Candidate who has submitted Applications with blurred/ no photographs, blurred/ no signature/ fee not received/ incomplete application/ etc. will be rejected.
  • Candidate scoring less than cut-off marks are not considered for the next stages of recruitment.  

o   General/Unreserved: 35%; OBC/EWS: 30%; Other Categories (SC/ST) :25%

  • The Reserved category candidate (SC/ST/OBC/VH/PH) who are selected on their own merit, will be adjusted on the General /Unreserved category seat
