Introduction

CPO means Central Police Organization. The SSC conducts CPO exams nationwide to select candidate to be designated or appointed for the post of Sub Inspector in various organizations like Delhi Police & Central Armed Police Force i.e., CRPF, CISF, BSF, SSB, ITBP etc. The total number of vacancies in Sub Inspector is 1565 (Approx.).

 

Who is a Sub Inspector?

·        He is the first investigating and lowest ranked officer who can file a charge sheet in court under Indian Police rules and regulations.

·        Officers junior to him cannot file charge sheets, but can only investigate cases on his behalf.

Eligibility

Nationality

·        The candidate must be citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan.

·        Migrated candidates must have Citizenship document from Government of India.

Educational Qualification

·        The candidate must have a Bachelor degree from a recognized university in any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce).

·        For the placement of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (Only)—Male candidate must have a Valid Driving License for Low Motor Vehicle (Bike, Car) on the set of Physical Test. Otherwise, the candidate will not be allowed to take Test.

 Age Limit

The Age Limit of an Applicant must be in Between 20 to 25 years. However, there are relaxation of age for Special Category Candidate.

Exam Pattern

The candidate has to go under several scrutiny before getting appointed for the post of Sub Inspector CPO.

·        Paper I

·        Physical Test

·        Paper II

·        Medical Examination.

All Stages are Mandatory to Qualify.

 Paper I

The candidate has to prepare the following subjects in Paper I. The total time given to candidate for solving Paper I is 2 hours.

·        General Intelligence and Reasoning – 50 Marks

·        General Knowledge & Awareness – 50 Marks

·        Quantitative Aptitude – 50 Marks

·        English Comprehension—50 Marks

 Paper II

·        In Paper II, The candidate have to prepare

·        English Language and Comprehension—200 Marks. [total time: 2 hours]

 Note:

·        In this Exam, Both paper have Multiple Choice Question.

·        The candidate has to write only when he is sure about the answer as there will be negative (0.25) marks on each wrong answer.

·        The candidate who qualified in Paper I will be called for Physical Test.

·        Once the candidate Pass the Physical Test, then he will be called for Paper II exam.

·        Paper II exam will be followed by Medical Examination.

Order Ranking, Direction & Distances, Missing numbers, Analogy, Coding/Decoding, Classifications, Series, Alphabet or word test, Venn diagram, Puzzles, Data sufficiency, Non- verbal reasoning.

 General Knowledge & Awareness

Science and Technology, Books & Authors, Economy, National & International Affairs, History, Geography, Polity, International Organizations, Current Events.

 Quantitative Aptitude

Mixture Problems, Simplification, Algebra, Profit & Loss, Ratio Proportions, Number Systems, Percentage, Average, Time & Work, Speed Time & Distance, Mensuration, Simple Interest, Trigonometry, Geometry, Data Interpretation.

 English Comprehension

Idioms, Error Detection, Vocabulary, Cloze Test, Reading Comprehensions, Grammar Section.

 English Language and Comprehension

Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc.), Vocabulary, Spellings, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.

 Once the candidate Qualify the Physique Test, then he has to undergo Physical Test.

100 meters race – 16 seconds

1.6 Km Race in – 6.5 minutes

Long Jump: 3.65 meters – Max 5 attempt will be given

High Jump: 1.2 meters – Max 3 attempt will be given

Short put 16 LBS: 4.5 meters – Max 3 attempt will be given

100-meter race – 18 second

800-meter race – 4 minutes

Long Jump: 2.7 meters or 9 feet – Max 3 attempt will be given

High Jump: 0.9 meters or 3 feet – Max 3 attempt will be given

SSC CPO Medical Test

 

 Physical Test is done to check the appropriate physical structure of a candidate like Height, Chest etc.

Medical exam is done to check that a person who is selected is free for defect. They examine fitness, vision, flat foot, knock knee, cross-eyes etc.

 

The criteria for the Medical Test are given below:

·        Candidate must have Minimum Near Vision: (better eye)-N6 and (worse eye) N9

·        Candidate must have Minimum Distant Vision: (better eye) 6/6 and (worse eye) 6/9

·        Must not have a flat foot, spider vein, knock knee, or squint in eyes

·        The candidate must have Standard Eye vision without any taking help of glasses or contact lens.
